Senior Platform Engineer I
Job Summary The Senior Software Engineer I, will be responsible for building, automating, and enhancing platform capabilities that enable scalable, reliable, and efficient software delivery. This role focuses on developing cloud-native solutions, integrating DevOps automation, and codifying infrastructure, pipelines, and platform services. The engineer will partner closely with application, observability, operations, and security teams to improve developer experience, accelerate delivery, and ensure platform reliability. The ideal candidate has strong software engineering fundamentals, experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, and a passion for automation, reusable services, and continuous improvement. Job Responsibilities - Design and develop platform services, APIs, and automation frameworks that enable scalable and reliable application delivery.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps to support continuous integration, testing, and deployment.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep) to automate provisioning and management of cloud resources.
- Develop reusable tools and services to improve developer productivity and platform self-service capabilities.
- Collaborate with application, observability, operations, and security teams to integrate best practices into platform solutions.
- Support containerized workloads and Kubernetes (AKS preferred), improving deployment patterns and platform stability.
- Contribute to observability solutions, including logging, monitoring, and alerting to ensure system reliability.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and troubleshooting to ensure high-quality, maintainable software.
- Continuously identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve system performance and scalability.

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and at least 4 years of experience in Engineering, Software Engineering or similar field OR a High School Diploma/GED and at least 7 years of experience in Engineering, Software Engineering or related field Experience in Engineering, Software Engineering or similar field Experience writing code for moderately complex applications Experience with programming languages for online applications, microservices or mobile applications Experience designing/building moderately complex applications/automation Experience writing automation test or deployment scripts Experience creating coding/scripting solutions to fix moderately complex problems Experience identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems At least 1 year of direct leadership, indirect leadership and/or cross-functional team leadership. Willing to travel up to 10% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications - 4+ years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, or DevOps-focused development roles.
- Strong programming experience in one or more languages such as Python, Java, or C#.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep), including state management and state import, and cloud platforms such as Azure.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes (AKS preferred) and containerized application development.
- Experience with Internal Developer Platforms such as Harness.
- Understanding of DevOps principles, automation practices, and cloud-native architectures.
- Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or OpenTelemetry.
- Knowledge of secure coding practices and cloud security fundamentals.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
