Sr. Data Health Analyst - EHR

TheSenior Health Data Analystplays a pivotal role in supporting alarge-scale electronic medical record (EMR) modernization and sustainment program. This role focuses on the integration, optimization, and long-term operational support of EMR data across a large, federated healthcare environment. The Analystis responsible fordeveloping andvalidatingtechnical documentation, ensuring the accuracy of data mapping logic, enhancingdatabaseand system performance, and supporting the reliability ofCache/IRISandEnsemble systemsused throughout the program.

A core function of the role is toanalyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex data journaling, database filing, and system performance issues. TheSenior Health Data Analystworks across multiple environments to review andoptimizeCache classes,SQL scripts,extraction routines, andmetadata processes. The role includes close collaboration withClient ArchitectsandInterSystems engineersto conduct gap analyses, resolvedatabaseand server challenges, and support high-availability configurations. The Analyst also contributes to thedevelopment of APIs, technical guides, code libraries, and supports the rollout ofNatural Language Processing (NLP) tools.

This role is remote with 25% travel to nationwide VA sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create andmaintainuser and technical documentation, including detailed mapping logic for external stakeholders.

  • Validate mapping logic and ensure accuracy across systems and processes.

  • Analyze and resolve journaling and data filing issues using Cachetools, anddevelop corrective action plans.

  • Review andoptimizeCache classesacross all regions and environments.

  • Review,validate, and enhanceSQL table-loading scripts(Historical Pulls) across multiple districts.

  • Monitor and evaluate upgrades toCache/IRIS databasesandEnsembleto ensure stable performance.

  • Assess high-availability configurations forCache/IRISandEnsemble,validatingalignment with program goals.

  • Analyze legacy EMR extraction processes and recommend enhancements to meet evolving Cerner metadata requirements.

  • Conduct performance analyses and recommend improvements forCache/IRIS databasesandEnsemble configurations.

  • Support troubleshooting efforts withInterSystemsto resolve database and server issues.

  • Prepare weeklyCache/IRIS issue reportssummarizing challenges and resolutions.

  • Conduct gap analysis withClient Architectstoidentifyadditionalfeatures or capabilities needed for metadata and change management.

  • Perform quality assurance reviews on software code, interfaces, and technical configurations.

  • Prepare andmaintaintechnical artifacts, including technical guides,SOAP/REST APIs, code libraries, and related documentation.

  • Support development of technical components for the programsNatural Language Processing (NLP) toolset.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree and 5+ years of progressive electronic health records (EHR) support outcome-based functionalcapabilityalarge-scale electronic medical record (EMR) modernization and sustainment program

  • 3+ years of directclinical informationSystems and clinical data managementexperience supporting EHR activities for a software as a service (SaaS) managed EHR solution

  • ProficiencywithCache/IRIS databases,Ensemble, andSQL

  • Ability to conductQA reviewson code, APIs, interfaces, and database processes

  • Must be able to obtain a Position of Trust and successfully pass a thorough Government background screening process requiring the completion of detailed forms and fingerprinting

  • Advanced analytics experience

  • Cernerdata validationexpertise

  • Experience withdata de-identification practices

  • Knowledge ofHL7/FHIR reconciliation

  • Familiarity with senior-level workflow needs in large healthcare organizations

  • Experience withNatural Language Processing (NLP) tools

  • Understanding ofCerner metadata changesandlegacy EMR extraction processes
