ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION
TITLE: Teachers: Elementary LINKS Extended Year (Summer 2026) Program (contingent on enrollment, funding, and programming)

SALARY: $50.00/hour working with students
$29.10 prep time
WORK SCHEDULE: Program Schedule:
July 6, 2026 – July 30, 2026 from 8:00 am-1:45 pm
Work Schedule:
July 6, 2026 – July 30, 2026 from 7:30 am-2:00 pm
Teachers are required to attend mandatory training with Summer Coordinator
Program Coordinator Staff Meeting: Date to be selected by Coordinator.
Communicated and facilitated by School Program Coordinator-Coordinator is responsible to train Summer School Staff on selected curriculum and summer expectations
DUTIES:
- Responsible to Head Teacher, Special Education Supervisor, and Principal
2. Keep student attendance records and follow up with absenteeism 3. Provide timely information to families and students 4. Prevent regression through academic and/or gross motor and/or social skills instruction as outlined in the students’ IEPs 5. Meet and instruct assigned classes in the locations and at times designated. 6. Assume responsibility for the office and clerical work associated with this Extended Year Program 7. Communicate student attendance and retention of skills during the Extended Year program to the students’ 2026-2027 schools. 8. Feed, diaper, and assist with personal hygiene as needed. 9. Perform additional duties assigned by the Head Teacher of this summer program.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Preference given to teachers currently employed in the LINKS Program in Springfield Public Schools.
- Ability to modify curriculum and accommodate students as needed.
- Facility in implementing students’ IEPs to meet their individual needs.
- Ability to manage classroom staff and work with other professionals to provide a quality educational experience.
- Professional communication skills.
- Ability to work with a diverse student population and staff pool.
